What we set out to do
Organic farming
Make farming communities aware of the harm chemicals do, show the value of organic farming, and help them adopt organic techniques.
Common resources
Build people's own management of common-pool resources, with SC, ST and landless poor families fully involved, for better livelihoods.
Protecting the environment
Help rural communities become pro-environment and protect their surroundings through their own social rules, restoring ecological balance.
Skills and income
Promote rural development through skills training — tailoring, computer education and more — and income-generation programmes.
Strong community groups
Equip community-based organisations to work together so that welfare programmes bring the most benefit to the people they are meant for.
Children's education
Help parents see the bright future education gives their children.
Health and education
Build awareness of health and education in every village.
Gender equality
Ensure equality between women and men in every sphere of life.
Care for the destitute
Establish, maintain or support homes for the aged, orphanages and other places of relief for the poor, orphans, widows and the elderly.
Clean villages
Take up service projects that clean selected areas under new garbage-recycling systems.
